Peggy Porschen Cake Parlour, London – Review

Cookery Course. Meat Fest. Cupcakes. Surely this is the natural order of all cousin day trips? Not just mine with my cousins then?!? We had spent the morning busy making croissants, a large meaty lunch at MEATliquor and there was, of course, a need for a seriously sweet treat before the train home.

Peggy Porschen has been on the cousin eat list for quite a while and since my cousin bought me her super cute Cupcake book for my birthday I wanted to visit even more.

Her cake parlour is exactly how I would want my bakery if/when I open one myself. Every pink detail you could possibly think of including the rows of pink champagne to have with your cupcakes. My favourite detail, the cake mould light shades, awesome.

I went for the sexy naughty Salted Caramel Cupcake, ‘Light and fluffy vanilla sponge filled with dulce de leche and sea salt, topped with a salted caramel cream cheese frosting and mini chunks of toffee. ‘ So very naughty, but not overly sweet and the right amount of frosting to have enough with the cake without overpowering the rest of the cake. Dream worthy.

My cousin went for her favourite, Red Velvet. ‘Deep red vanilla sponge with a light taste of chocolate, topped with a heavenly vanilla cream cheese frosting.’ I love cream cheese frosting, there’s something so good about the white mountain perched on the vibrant sponge.  Now if only Peggy Porschen delivered the sweet treats nationwide rather than just central London, then I would be a very happy bunny.
